Quote for the week

Gosh, riding is good for the soul!
~DOR yesterday

The DOR has not been riding since I got hurt at the end of September. She has missed it so much.
Yesterday she went for a ride on Sir Darby and the change in her was amazing. She smiled during her ride, she loped, she side-passed, she backed, and she had a blast. She was smiling for hours after her ride.
Now she is ready for the coming week, now she feels centered and whole again. Isn't it amazing the magic that a horse works on a human.
I would like to thank Sir Darby for being here to take the DOR riding until I am well.
Enjoy your day and don't forget to hug your DOR!

I just went up and groomed my horses yesterday. Yes, now I'm ready to face the week (parent conferences!)

I'm sure DOR will be ecstatic when you are able to take her riding again. Meanwhile, having an understudy is a good thing.

I see that your DOR has a big grin on her face. That is a great picture ,but I know her grin will be bigger when she is riding you.

Glad you have a back-up while you're out of action! Your DOR sure looks happy in the picture!

Yay for the DOR , a ride is just the thing! When I am feeling better I know that will be the thing I do first , right now I am sidelined (notmy horse) from Lupus , but I will get back to it

I had no idea you let your DOR ride other horses. I find it raises their expectations.

So be careful with that... I'm just saying...

I had hopes for this weekend, but the weather didn't cooperate.

So Jack, when do you think you'll be able to resume your duties?

I am not sure when Jack will be able to be ridden. Right now he is not ready to support even a light rider. The therapist will be checking him again this month and if he is healed enough he will go to her facility for daily work focused on getting him moving correctly and rebuild the strength in his hindquarters. We are predicting that three more months should see me on him again. I am pretending we are just taking a winter break because it is too cold to ride.

Thanks for the update on Cactus Jack. It has been so long since my last ride. I miss it terribly, but it just isn't easy for me these days. No horse in my life and the cost of a rental is so expensive. - Margy

You look like you had a good ride. It's been so wet and cold here, I haven't wanted to get out and ride. The cold here is a wet, damp cold and it's awful...I'm ready for spring!!
